Privacy Policy

SNAP Verdict ("SNAP Verdict", "we", "us", or "our") is operated by TopN Analytics and provides a price and specification comparison engine for mobile phones in the Indian market. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our website, how we use it, and the choices available to you. By using SNAP Verdict, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information we collect

We collect information in the following ways:

• Account information. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google as part of the OAuth sign-in flow. If you sign in or create an account with email and password instead, we (via our authentication provider) store your email address and a securely hashed password — we never see or store your password in plain text.
• Usage data you create on the site. Wishlisted products, products added for comparison, and price alerts you set up. This data is currently stored on your device (e.g. browser local storage) and/or against the demo session, and is not yet tied to a verified per-user account data model.
• Technical and log data. Standard web request data such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited and timestamps, which may be collected automatically by our hosting infrastructure.
• Cookies and similar technologies. See Section 3 below.

2. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

• Authenticate you and keep you signed in across visits;
• Show your wishlist, saved comparisons and price alerts back to you;
• Operate, maintain and improve the comparison engine and its features;
• Monitor for misuse, fraud, or abuse of the service; and
• Comply with applicable legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

3. Cookies

SNAP Verdict uses cookies and browser storage for purposes such as:

• Session cookies — to keep you signed in, whether you signed in with Google or with email and password.
• Preference storage — e.g. remembering your light/dark theme choice, wishlist and comparison selections, via localStorage.
• Essential functional cookies required for the site to work as intended.

We do not currently use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Most browsers let you control or delete cookies through their settings; doing so may affect site functionality (e.g. you may be signed out, or lose saved preferences).

4. Price, specification & prediction accuracy

SNAP Verdict is a comparison tool, not a retailer. Prices, seller listings and stock status shown on the site are sourced from third-party shopping data providers and may not reflect the final price, availability, taxes, shipping cost, or terms offered by a seller at checkout. Prices can change between the time they are shown on SNAP Verdict and the time you complete a purchase on a third-party site, and results are not guaranteed to be complete, exhaustive, or fully up to date.

Specifications are sourced from publicly available reference data (e.g. Wikipedia) and may contain inaccuracies or lag behind a manufacturer's own listing. Any scoring, "good time to buy" style ratings, or similar verdicts shown on the site are computed from the data available to us and are provided for informational purposes only — they are not financial, investment, or purchasing advice, and we do not guarantee that following them will result in the lowest price or best outcome. Always verify price, specifications, and availability directly with the seller before making a purchase decision.

5. Third-party retailer links & affiliate disclosure

SNAP Verdict links out to third-party retailers (such as Flipkart, Amazon.in, Croma, Vijay Sales, and other sellers surfaced through our shopping data sources) so you can complete a purchase on that retailer's own site. We do not process payments, fulfil orders, or control the content, pricing, or policies of these third-party sites, and we are not responsible for your experience with them. Review each retailer's own terms, privacy policy and return policy before purchasing.

SNAP Verdict does not currently participate in any affiliate or commission program with any retailer — outbound links to retailers are not monetized. If that changes, this section will be updated to name the specific program(s) and retailer(s) involved before any such link goes live.

6. Data sharing & third-party services

We may share limited information with:

• Service providers who help us operate the site (e.g. hosting; authentication via Supabase, including Google sign-in through Supabase);
• Shopping/specification data providers we query to show you price and spec information (this is a one-way lookup — we send a product query, not your personal data);
• Law enforcement or regulators where required by law.

7. Data retention & security

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service described above, or as required by law. We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information in our control, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your rights & choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, or to object to certain processing. You can sign out at any time, which clears your session; clearing your browser storage will also remove locally saved wishlist/comparison/theme data. To make a request regarding your data, contact us using the details in Section 11.

9. Children's privacy

SNAP Verdict is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us using the details in Section 11 so we can remove it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of SNAP Verdict after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
